Bringing my drawings to life

I have always had a love for film and the stories they tell. It’s a quality that has forever been core to my own art, right from the beginning, and being able to combine these two elements is something I enjoy immensely

I have been drawing and painting animations for a few years now. They are timely and repetitive, sometimes incredibly frustrating to make too but the thing that never tires is that last stage when you place all the frames together. It never fails to amaze me how these drawings and paintings quite literally then -come to life-

For my debut solo exhibition I wanted to incorporate this medium into the show in some small way. I decided to create two short looping animations of artworks found within my paintings and upon my ceramic lamps, which were then given the final flourish of sound by sound designer, George Hill

Here are a few process images and frames from when I was making my trotting westie and little potassium being in the lead up to my show
